Driven by social impact, we create modern designs using traditional weaving techniques. We use locally available resources. We generate market opportunities for women artisans and possibilities for them to have access to healthy income, making them financially independent to break the cycle of gender inequality and poverty.
It all started in Odisha
Karmaar started as an initiative to introduce bamboo craft making as an alternative source of Livelihood. The overwhelming response of the women led to an increase in the number of artisans from 3 to 200. This response resulted in creating a social enterprise that supports women artisans in Odisha.
